Venezuelan salsa vocalist, songwriter, and producer Darwin Rivero, known professionally as "El ChakL de la Salsa," was born in Caracas, Venezuela. Growing up in the 23 de Enero neighborhood, he developed an early passion for singing and became one of the main soloists in a neighborhood choir called Chum Merum. At the age of 16, he moved to Guatire, located in the Miranda State, to continue his musical career.
In addition to performing, Rivero has worked as a composer, producer, and broadcaster, leading his own group, Darwin Rivero y su Orquesta. In 2025, he released the single "El Que No Llora."
