Orquesta Irawo, also known as Orquesta Irawo de México, is a salsa orchestra directed by musician Jorge Bautista. The name Irawo translates to Star in the Yoruba language. The ensemble was formed with the purpose of preserving the classic 1970s salsa dura sound that originated in New York and Puerto Rico, adapting the style for contemporary generations.
The group's musical signature includes a fusion of traditional salsa dura with pre-Hispanic sounds. Having celebrated its tenth anniversary of artistic activity, the orchestra's releases include the single Guerreros.
