Carlos Cascante was born in Liberia, Costa Rica, into a family of musicians and artists. In 1996, he was invited to join the folkloric group Grupo Lo Nuestro, led by Fernell López, as well as a salsa band named Caliente. Cascante moved to the United States in 1995, where he spent the majority of his subsequent musical career.
In 2005, Cascante officially began his professional music career by co-founding Carlos Cascante Y Su Tumbao, a six-piece ensemble, alongside musical director Julio Jauregui. The group's catalog includes the release "Hablando en Serio."
Cascante is a front-line vocalist for the three-time Grammy Award-winning Spanish Harlem Orchestra. Throughout his career, he has also collaborated with the Grammy-winning Pacific Mambo Orchestra and performed in concerts with prominent Latin artists such as Maelo Ruiz and David Pavón.
