Pirulo y la Tribu is a contemporary salsa and timba group formed in 2010 by singer and bandleader Francisco "Pirulo" Rosado Rosario. Born in 1977 in the San Jose Reservoir barrio of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Rosado Rosario grew up under the influence of his Puerto Rican mother and his father, Frankie Rosado. The group was established to bridge classic salsa traditions with modern production and contemporary musical styles.

The ensemble's sound combines Nuyorican salsa, Afro-Cuban son, and Puerto Rican bomba with elements of jazz, Latin soul, hip-hop, and world fusion. Pirulo y la Tribu released their debut album, Calle Linda, in mid-2013. The album's notable single "Loco Pero Feliz" entered the Billboard Latin Songs charts in 2014 and earned industry recognition in 2015.

Following their debut success, the band continued to record and perform, releasing subsequent projects including the album Positivo. They remain active in the tropical music scene, representing a modern evolution of classic Latin rhythms.
