Julen Leuza
Julen Leuza (born Pamplona, 1991) is a Spanish musician, composer, arranger, and percussionist. He is the musical director and leader of Goxua'n Salsa, a Colombian-Navarrese salsa orchestra based in Pamplona, Spain. The group, which features both Navarrese and Colombian musicians, takes its name from the traditional Basque dessert goxua and blends classical salsa rhythms with Basque language and cultural themes.
Under Leuza's direction, the orchestra has released projects including their second album, Urak eginen du bide. Outside of his work in salsa, Leuza is active in traditional Navarrese folklore, performing for many years as a gaitero (gaita player) accompanying the Comparsa de Gigantes y Cabezudos during the annual San FermÃn festival in Pamplona.
