Osvaldo Román

Osvaldo Román was born in New York on March 28, 1958, to Carmen Aída Díaz and Osvaldo Román. Before his musical career, he pursued academic studies, graduating as a clinical psychologist and studying computer science and business.

As a singer, songwriter, and percussionist, Román has spent over 35 years in the music industry. He is known for his work as an orchestrational vocalist, having sung for prominent groups such as Puerto Rican Power and Colombia's Grupo Niche. His work has taken him on international tours to countries like Australia, and he eventually relocated to Colombia.

After surviving a critical illness that left him paralyzed and near death, Román recovered and returned to performing. Among his recent works is a salsa version of the bolero "Payaso," a song originally popularized by Sammy Marrero with Raphy Leavitt y La Selecta.
