Efraín "Frankie" Morales is an American salsa singer and songwriter born in February 1962. Raised in the East Harlem neighborhood of New York City, known as "El Barrio," Morales developed an early interest in music. To nurture his talent, he attended the Boys Harbor Conservatory in East Harlem, where he studied voice and percussion.
Morales began performing professionally at a young age, singing backing vocals (coros) for Joe Bataan when he was fourteen years old. Over the years, he gained extensive experience performing in New York's active salsa scene, including venues like Club Corso. He went on to provide backing vocals and collaborate with legendary salsa artists such as Hector Lavoe and Celia Cruz.
