Jorgito Nicolai is a salsa vocalist who joined the legendary Puerto Rican orchestra La Sonora Ponceña in September 2015. He was recruited to the band by director and pianist Papo Lucca following the departure of singer Roberto Ortíz. Growing up, Nicolai was musically influenced by prominent salsa figures and groups such as Rafael Cortijo, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, and the Fania All Stars.
Since joining La Sonora Ponceña as a lead singer, Nicolai has performed on international stages, providing lead vocals on tracks like "Te Vas de Mi." He has also participated in other salsa recordings, including featuring on the song "Yo Puse Una Cascarita."
