MioSotis (also known as MioSoty) is an American Latin singer born in Brooklyn, New York to parents of Dominican descent. Growing up in New York, she was exposed to merengue and salsa from a young age and attended local music festivals. She began her professional career as a teenager, singing merengue for nearly two years with the prominent Dominican bandleader Wilfrido Vargas, followed by a five-year tenure as a vocalist for The New York Band.
In 1997, MioSotis launched her solo career as a salsa artist. Her catalog includes the albums Nace Una Estrella! and Ardiente, as well as a range of singles. In the 2010s, she released the tracks El No Sabe (2010), Porque Te Quiero (2013), and the holiday track Santa Baby (2019).
MioSotis has continued to actively release salsa music well into the 2020s. Her recent discography includes El No Lo Sabe (2021), Vaiven (2022), and her 2024 singles Si A Veces Hablo De Ti and Dame Salsa. Her most recent work includes the 2025 single Sabrosa.
