Carlos Yahanny Valencia Ortiz, professionally known as Tostao, is a Colombian rapper, singer, actor, and civil rights activist. He is best known as a member of ChocQuibTown, a musical fusion group that formed in Cali, Colombia. Although the band formed in Cali, its members are originally from the Colombian department of Chocó. Alongside bandmates Gloria 'Goyo' MartÃnez and Miguel 'Slow' MartÃnez, Tostao performs as a rapper, helping to create a unique blend of global music, hip-hop, and traditional rhythms from the Colombian Pacific region.
Beyond his musical output with ChocQuibTown, Tostao has worked to put the sounds of the Colombian Pacific and Chocó region on the musical map through his solo work. His career has also expanded into television and media, which includes joining the Telemundo reality series 'Los 50' in October 2023.
