The orchestra Deyvi y su Portada, officially known as "La Sangre Nueva," was founded on June 4, 2015. The ensemble originally formed with a ten-member lineup, which included three vocalists, a pianist, a bassist, a percussionist playing drums and timbale, a conguero, two saxophonists, and a trumpeter.
While the group initially explored a variety of musical styles, they ultimately chose to focus their repertoire on Songo, a rhythm pioneered by Cuban music masters such as Juan Formell. Their catalog includes tracks such as "Bombón", "Quitate", and "Salsa con Songo".
