
Lita Branda, known as La Lady Crooner and the sonera of Peru, is a Peruvian tropical and salsa vocalist. She is the sister of the prominent Peruvian artist Pablo Villanueva, better known as Melcochita. Branda became a pioneering figure in Peru's tropical music history, notably performing in the country's first all-female orchestra.
Her discography includes albums such as La tigera de la salsa and Con sabor, and her recordings have been featured on compilations such as Son Cubano NYC: Cuban Roots New York Spices 1972-82. Her contributions to the genre are officially recognized in the Salsa Museum Gallery in New York.
