Dante Vargas is a Peruvian trumpeter, musical director, and composer born in Trujillo, Peru, in 1972. Known for his contributions to the global salsa, tropical, and Latin jazz scenes, the multi-Grammy winner is currently based in Miami, Florida. Throughout his career, Vargas has established a reputation for crafting a sound that bridges classic Afro-Caribbean rhythms with contemporary salsa and timba.
Often performing and recording with his orchestra, Dante Vargas & Val Vargas, his arrangements fuse elements of mambo, salsa dura, and Latin jazz, drawing structural inspiration from historic big band ensembles.
