Joel "Pibo" Márquez is a Venezuelan percussionist and musician from Caracas, Venezuela. Over the course of his career, he has performed in more than 40 countries, focusing his work on the promotion and exploration of Latin American Afro rhythms.
Márquez performs primarily within the salsa and jazz genres. As a bandleader, he directs the ensemble known as Pibo Márquez y su Descarga.
