Melvin Arthur Martínez Torres, known professionally as Mel Martinez, is a salsa singer, songwriter, and sonero. Born in the United States, he relocated to Puerto Rico at a very young age, where he grew up and established his career in music. He is recognized as a highly versatile vocalist within the salsa genre who writes his own lyrics and performs as a traditional sonero.
Martinez released his album "Pa'la Calle" in 2007. His subsequent releases include the single "Puerto Rico = Salsero" and the 2018 single "Tributo al papa de la salsa / salsa buena". He has also released the production "Así Escribe un Sonero", showcasing his songwriting and vocal versatility.
