Luis Antonio "Papo" Rosario Concepción, affectionately known as "El Carbonerito," was a Puerto Rican salsa vocalist who spent nearly 40 years as a member of El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico. Performing as a backup singer and dancer with the group for 38 years, he was a key figure in their stage presentation and contributed to major recordings, including their 40th-anniversary release "En Vivo." Rosario passed away in December 2025 at the age of 78.
Following his tenure with El Gran Combo, Rosario embarked on a solo career as a salsa artist, beginning with the release of the single "El Gustito de Papo" in 2019. He followed this with the 2020 singles "Gracias" and "Asi Es la Tierra Donde Naci." In 2021, he released "Salsa de la Buena" and "Esto Empieza y No Acaba" as singles, which paved the way for his 2022 studio album, "Salsa De La Buena." His solo work continued through 2024 with the release of the single "Besos."
