Son con Cuero is a six-piece musical ensemble formed in 2015 with a shared focus on performing son cubano, the traditional Cuban genre that served as a predecessor to salsa. The group's artistic mission centers on highlighting the relationship between the drum and dance.
In addition to traditional son, the band's repertoire includes adaptations of New York salsa themes and interpretations of songs by the classic Cuban group Los Van Van. In 2025, Son con Cuero released the single "Fósforo," displaying their blend of son cubano and timba.
