Jimmy Bosch

Jimmy Bosch, also known as 'El Trombon Criollo', is an American trombonist, composer, singer, dancer, and bandleader of Puerto Rican descent. Born on October 18, 1959, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Bosch was raised in Hoboken, New Jersey, by parents who emigrated from Arecibo, Puerto Rico. He began performing in salsa bands at the age of thirteen. After graduating from Hoboken High School in 1975, he later lived in the Bronx, New York, for twenty years.

As an instrumentalist and bandleader, Bosch is recognized for his contributions to salsa, Latin jazz, and the progressive 'salsa dura' sound. His musical style spans genres such as mambo, cha-cha-cha, timba, and son cubano.

Bosch has maintained an active recording and release schedule over several decades. His catalog includes the 2009 album '!a Millon!', followed by a wide range of singles in the late 2010s and 2020s. These releases include 'Ay Mamasita, Boogaloo!' and 'Colores del Baile Latino!' in 2018, and a series of 2019 releases such as 'El Avion de Colada', 'Hasta Que Salga El Sol', 'Colada's Milkyway', 'Charanga Colada', and 'Palabras Volando'. His subsequent work features 'Cuarentena' and 'Tano Kiseki Chan' in 2020, as well as the 2025 singles 'El Color Oliva' and 'Couleur Café'.
