David Cedeño

David Cedeño is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and bandleader of Puerto Rican descent who began his professional musical career at the age of 14. He gained significant prominence in the salsa scene during the 1980s, particularly in Colombia, with the hit song "Cuando se acabe la rumba," as well as tracks like "Mi son montuno" and "Salsa na' ma'."

Leading the David Cedeño Orchestra, he developed a signature style characterized by rearranging English-language classic pop standards and 1950s "oldies" into uptempo salsa numbers with English lyrics, alongside traditional Spanish salsa, Latin jazz, and merengue. His ensemble performs in various configurations, ranging from a six-piece sextet to a full twelve-piece orchestra. Cedeño's recorded catalog includes albums such as "A New Return" (2010), "Afinando y Aficando" (2010), "I'll Be There" (2020), and several 2024 releases including "New Jersey's Finest" and "Ensalada De Salsa."
