Gerardo Rosales is a Venezuelan percussionist, composer, and music producer who specializes in salsa and Latin jazz. Born in Venezuela, Rosales relocated to the Netherlands in 1993, a transition that helped expand his musical career internationally. Throughout his career, he has recorded over 20 albums under his own name and contributed to more than 70 albums with other artists.
Known for establishing and directing numerous musical projects, Rosales is the creator and leader of groups such as El Combo Mundial, Venezuelan Masters, Charanga La Crisis, Our Latin Groove, La Gran Charanga, Son del Sofa, Ritmico & Pianistico, Cachao Sounds, and Tributo al Mango. His musical style blends elements of traditional Latin rhythms, salsa, mambo, timba, cha-cha-cha, and modern jazz.
Rosales has maintained a consistent recording career spanning several decades. His recent releases include the albums "Salsa Pa' Lante" (2020), "La Vintage" (2023), "El Tambor X Paranda Loca" (2024), and "Charanjazz" (2025), as well as singles such as "Baila Gaita de Venezuela" (2020), "Mariage D'amour" (2021), and "Agua" (2025).
