Ernest "Ernie" Acevedo is a New York City-born salsa percussionist, singer, and songwriter. Born to Puerto Rican parents, Acevedo grew up in a family with deep musical roots, which influenced his career in Latin music.
He is notably associated with the salsa group Conjunto Imagen, which was formed in 1989. Serving as a singer, songwriter, and musician, Acevedo contributed to several of the group's recordings. His recorded work in the late 1990s includes the albums "Imagen 97" in 1997 and "Entrando al Milenio" in 1999.
Acevedo's active recording era continued into the early 2000s, represented by the release of the compilation "Contra La Fuerza" in 2002.
