
Amilcar Soto Rodriguez is a Peruvian guitarist, singer-songwriter, composer, and arranger born in Surquillo, Lima, in 1969. Raised in a musical family, he grew up in the district of Villa El Salvador and began playing the guitar and charango during his childhood. At the age of 25, he relocated to Italy, where he enrolled in a music conservatory to continue his studies.
Throughout his career, Soto Rodriguez has worked across genres such as Afro-Peruvian music, Latin jazz, world music, son cubano, and timba. His recording career includes the release of his debut album, "Mujeres de Arena y Otras Historias." His early catalog releases include the singles "Recuerdos De Villa" in 2017 and "Siempre Al Despertar Del Sol" in 2018.
Soto Rodriguez has remained active with a string of releases in the mid-2020s. He released the single "Una Bachata en Paris" in 2024, followed by the 2025 singles "Abrazando El Son," "Un Dulce Miedo," and "Le Vent Encore."
