Venezuelan vocalist and lyricist Ofelia del Rosal is recognized for her interpretations spanning bossa nova, jazz, bolero, and traditional Venezuelan music. Her recording history began in 2001 with the release of the album "Aldemareando," which was followed by "Simon Diaz Universal" in 2006 and "Flor de Mayo" in 2007.
In 2008, she released "Bill´azz," a tribute project dedicated to Dominican musician Luis María "Billo" Frómeta. The album, which featured a guest appearance by vocalist Gilberto Santa Rosa, became the best-selling record of 2009 in Venezuela. Over the next decade, Del Rosal expanded her discography with works such as "Al Poeta" (2010), "Entre Pianos" (2014), "En-Cantos de Venezuela" (2015), "Entre Dos" (2016), and "Começar de Novo" (2018).
Del Rosal's recent work includes the single "Abrazaditos" (2022), the album "Todo o Sentimento" (2023), and the 2024 album "Legrand Caribe." For "Legrand Caribe," she adapted the compositions of French composer Michel Legrand, writing her own lyrics to set his melodies to Caribbean rhythms. In addition to her recording career, she works as a vocal instructor and coach.
