Conjunto Saratoga was originally founded in 1952 by Robertico Álvarez. Throughout its history as a classical son cubano ensemble, the group accompanied several notable vocalists, including Lino Borges, Ñico Membiela, and Jesús Navarro.
Jesús Navarro established his reputation performing with prominent Cuban orchestras such as Cuba Mambo, Conjunto Casino, and the Conjunto de Roberto Faz. He later took over as the director of Conjunto Saratoga. Under his leadership, the group released the album "El Sonido Del Saratoga" in 2004, capturing a repertoire that spans traditional son cubano, timba, mambo, and salsa.
