David Lucca y Los Clásicos is a salsa dura ensemble founded in 2013 by percussionist, producer, and director David Lucca. Prior to establishing the group, Lucca accumulated over 45 years of music experience, which included directing the Pachanga's Band starting in 2006. David Lucca y Los Clásicos focuses on reviving and performing classic salsa music from the 1960s and 1970s, presenting tributes to prominent figures of the genre such as Ismael Rivera, Sonora Ponceña, El Gran Combo, Willie Rosario, Ray Barreto, and Héctor Lavoe.
The band's musical arrangement is designed specifically for dancers, characterized by a heavy rhythm section featuring Lucca on bongo and campana, alongside a wind section composed of trombones, trumpet, and baritone saxophone. The group's releases include the single "El Pasaporte," which was accompanied by an official music video.
