José Gregorio Linares Carrasco, artistically known as Cheo Linares, is a Venezuelan singer, composer, and sonero born in Caracas on February 12, 1964. Throughout his career, he has been a prominent figure in Venezuelan salsa, performing as a vocalist for several notable groups, including La Salsa Mayor, Salsa Mágica, El Trabuco Venezolano, and Saxomanía.
As a solo artist, Linares made his debut in 2006 with the album "Aquí He Llegado". He later released the album "Venezuela Soy" in 2017, followed by the single "Que Vacilón". For his contributions to music, Linares has been awarded the Premio Nacional de Cultura 2023-24 and the Premio Glorias Artísticas de Venezuela.
