Josué Barreto, also known as Joshua Barreto, is a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, producer, and musical director from the municipality of Isabela, Puerto Rico. Raised around traditional holiday parrandas, Barreto developed a passion for Puerto Rican folk music, particularly plena. He went on to establish Barreto El Show, a musical project and ensemble focused on high-energy tropical music performances.
Active for over 16 years, the group performs a diverse fusion of musical genres that includes Puerto Rican bomba and plena, salsa, merengue, bachata, rock, and pop. Under Barreto's leadership, the ensemble has maintained presence in both traditional and contemporary music circles, releasing singles such as "Traemos Alegría."
