Cachi y Saoco Nuevo is a salsa dura and Latin jazz ensemble founded and led by percussionist Philip "Cachi" Velez. After playing with various musical groups over several years, Velez established the band to present a classic New York style salsa dura swing. In addition to this group, Velez also leads a Latin jazz project called Cachi and his Salsa Jazz Ensemble.
Cachi y Saoco Nuevo has performed at clubs, lounges, festivals, and concert venues across New York, the Tri-State area, and South Florida. Their recorded output includes three prominent singles: "Plazos Traicioneros" released in 2018, "La Fiera" in 2020, and "Dejala Que Baile Sola" in 2022.
