Vanessa Soto, widely known by her artistic name 'La Chinita de la Salsa,' is a Peruvian salsa singer from the district of Comas in Lima, Peru. She began her musical career performing with various tropical and cumbia groups, including her involvement with 'Las gatitas de la cumbia' in 2020. She also built an audience by uploading video covers of songs by artists she admired to her social media platforms.
In March 2024, Soto was injured during an armed attack in which her partner, a police officer, was killed. Following a period of recovery, she returned to performing on stage. Her professional releases include the 2024 salsa single 'Estoy Enamorado'.
