Paola Lorenzi is an Italian vocalist, percussionist, and mezzo-soprano who trained at the Conservatorio di La Spezia, graduating in the mid-1990s under the instruction of Gabriella Ravazzi. Known for her stylistic versatility, her repertoire spans classical, jazz, tango, and Latin American music. Throughout her career, she has performed and joint-recorded with numerous notable Italian musicians and composers, including Paolo Conte, Ivano Fossati, Giorgio Gaslini, Bruno Tommaso, Paolo Fresu, and Enrico Rava.
A significant portion of her Latin music career developed through an extensive partnership with Cuban guitarist, arranger, and composer Pedro Mena Peraza, which led to the formation of the group LatinMania. Her work frequently incorporates elements of son cubano, timba, and salsa.
In 2013, Lorenzi released the single "Pegaito, el Son de Cuba," produced by Berna Jam. She followed this in 2018 with the album "En la Imaginación (Jazz Tribute To Marta Valdés)," showcasing her ability to merge jazz sensibilities with Cuban compositions.
