CSAN-II is a Philadelphia-based Latin jazz and salsa ensemble founded in 2018 by bassist, composer, arranger, and musical director Celestino Sanchez. Sanchez, who has performed salsa and Latin jazz in the Philadelphia Tri-State area professionally since 1979, is also a founding member of the Latin American Musicians Association. Performing as an eight- to eleven-piece group, the ensemble features a traditional lineup of bass, keyboards, congas, timbales, bongos, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, and vocals. Sanchez records, arranges, mixes, and edits the group's projects from his own studio.
The ensemble's recordings often highlight local guest performers, notably Philadelphia native vocalist Lia Montalvo. Over the years, CSAN-II has sustained a steady release schedule focused on Latin jazz and mambo. The group's catalog includes the 2022 single "Déjame" as well as the 2023 albums "Combinacion Mundial" and "Combinacion Mundial Vol 2", alongside the singles "Ahora Ahora" and "Persephone".
CSAN-II continued its active production with the 2024 singles "Fiesta Jazz" and "Jazzeando en el Valle". In 2025, the ensemble released a prolific sequence of singles, including "Eres Una Flor", "Brisa Tropical - Ofelia", "Abre Tu Corazón", and "El Viaje". This period of output culminated in the 2026 album, "Te Tengo Noticias".
