
Rafael Andino Rivera, known professionally as Rafy Andino or Ito Andino, is a Puerto Rican salsa sonero born on September 24 in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. He gained international recognition within the salsa scene after joining the acclaimed group La Orquesta Mulenze in 1983. Led by bassist Edwin Morales, Andino spent decades as a key vocalist for the orchestra, establishing himself as a highly experienced sonero.
As a solo artist, Andino released the album A Mi Estilo. The production features a distinctive, non-traditional conjunto instrumentation consisting of two trumpets, a trombone, a baritone saxophone, tres, piano, and a rhythm section without timbales. His solo repertoire also includes the track Cantando a mi estilo, written by Moncho Rivera and arranged by Jorge David Rivera.
