Uptown Royalty, also known as Uptown Royalty NYC, is a New York-based musical ensemble founded by the husband-and-wife duo Jodi Music and Ron Renaissance. Combining their extensive stage experience, the group performs a fusion of genres that blends salsa with R&B, jazz, pop, and funk. They have performed at several notable New York venues and cultural institutions, including Lincoln Center, SOB's, 54 Below, and the Public Theater.
Between 2021 and 2024, the group released a series of singles that highlight their modern salsa sound. They debuted in 2021 with the releases of "Amor Destino" and "Nala's Song," which were followed by "Ese Fuego" in 2022 and "You Can Get It" in 2023. In 2024, Uptown Royalty released the single "UR NYC SALSA Vol. 1." Led by Ron Renaissance's arrangements and Jodi Music's vocals, the band performs both original compositions and salsa-influenced adaptations of classic songs.
