Chamaco Rivera

Cristóbal Senquis Rivera, known professionally as Chamaco Rivera, is a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, percussionist, and music director. Born on November 16, 1946, in Guayama, Puerto Rico, to Vicenta Senquis and Carmelo Rivera, he developed an early interest in music. He initially played percussion instruments like the conga and timbales before establishing himself as a vocalist in genres such as salsa, bolero, and merengue.

Over a career spanning more than five decades, Rivera collaborated with several notable Latin music orchestras. He performed as a vocalist for major bandleaders including Willie Rosario, Primitivo Santos, Mike Hernández, and Luis Colón. Among his recognizable recordings is his performance of the hit "De Barrio Obrero a la 15."

Rivera has remained active in the music industry, residing in Sabana Seca, Toa Baja, Puerto Rico. His recent work includes the release of the 2026 single "Llanto Bajo La Lluvia."
