Son 21 is a Colombian salsa and timba band formed in late 2014 in the Distrito de Aguablanca, specifically Comuna 21, of Cali, Colombia. The orchestra was founded and is directed by musician and producer José David Carvajal, who assembled young conservatory-trained musicians from the local neighborhood to explore timba and modern salsa sounds.
Characterized by a distinct timba style, the group gained recognition early on as finalists in Cali's Festival Metrópolis (Duelo de Talentos). Son 21 has released works such as their studio album "Qué película" and later registered the release of the single "Ya Para Qué" in 2026.
