Dorance Lorza

Dorance Lorza is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, and bandleader who has been a key figure in the London salsa scene since the mid-1990s. In 1996, he formed the ensemble Dorance Lorza & Sexteto Cafe, which became one of the leading bands in the United Kingdom's latin music community. Lorza and his group are widely recognized as pioneers in the late 1990s revival of the "salsa con vibes" style, characterized by the prominent use of the vibraphone in a small band setting.

Over more than two decades, the band has produced multiple recordings, including their fifth release, "Latin DNA" 15 Years Celebration Vol 1. Lorza's arrangements and compositions have helped define the modern UK salsa sound. His recorded catalog also includes the 2026 single "Benji The Frisky Dog."
