Bacilos is a Latin pop group formed in 1997, consisting of Colombian singer-songwriter and guitarist Jorge Villamizar, Puerto Rican drummer and percussionist José Javier Freire, and Brazilian bassist André Lopes. The band's sound incorporates diverse influences, fusing tropical music and salsa with elements of Motown and hard rock. After an initial run from 1997 to 2006, the members reunited in 2016.
The group first achieved widespread recognition with their self-titled album Bacilos, which was a re-edition of their release Madera. The album went gold in Colombia, received two Latin Grammy nominations, and featured the hit single "Tabaco y Chanel." Following the success of this major label debut, the band toured internationally as the supporting act for Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz. In 2003, Bacilos won two Latin Grammy Awards for their album Caraluna.
Following their reformation, the trio returned to the studio and released the album ¿Dónde Nos Quedamos? in 2018.
