Avenicio "Pin" Núñez is a Panamanian trombonist and bandleader who began his professional music career at the age of 15 or 16. Over a music career spanning more than 25 years, Núñez has performed and recorded with numerous prominent Latin music artists, including Charlie Aponte, Vicentico, Gilberto Santa Rosa, and Carlos Vives. He has also served as a member of the backing orchestra for Rubén Blades, contributing to projects that have accumulated ten Grammy Awards, consisting of six Latin Grammys and four Grammy Awards.
Núñez leads the ensemble Pin Núñez y la MG (also known as La Misma Gente). The group's signature sound, which they refer to as "salsa fresca," combines traditional Panamanian salsa with contemporary elements of urban music and Latin pop.
In 2026, the group expanded their discography in our catalog with the release of the single "Soy lo Prohibido" and the album "Iridiscencia."
