
Yamil Quijada is a Venezuelan salsa singer and songwriter born on September 10, 1974, in Caracas, Venezuela. Raised in the parish of Caricuao, he developed an interest in performing during his childhood, participating in singing and traditional folkloric dance at the Guayana Esequiba school. Exposed to salsa and Afro-Latin music by his family, he decided to pursue the genre during his youth.
Quijada began his professional career collaborating with various local ensembles. Notably, he performed as a vocalist with the orchestra Magia Caribeña before transitioning to a solo career to focus on his own musical style and compositions.
His solo discography includes the album Mi Oportunidad and a series of singles released between 2019 and 2024. His catalog features tracks such as "Hay Algo en Ti" (2019), "Medley" (2021), and "Homenaje a Pastor Lopez" (2023), as well as his 2024 singles "Te Voy a Olvidar" and "Si Te Falta Alguien."
