Alí Bello is a Venezuelan violinist who began his musical training and career in his home country, performing in classical chamber ensembles and symphony orchestras. In the early 1990s, he relocated to New York City, where he expanded his repertoire to encompass Latin jazz, jazz fusion, pop, and various South American traditional styles. Throughout his career, Bello has performed and recorded with a diverse group of prominent artists, including salsa pioneer Johnny Pacheco, jazz icon Paquito D'Rivera, trumpeter Doc Severinsen, hip-hop band The Roots, and pop artist Beyoncé.
Bello's discography reflects his fusion of Venezuelan roots and contemporary jazz. In 2013, he released the album Connection Caracas - New York, which documented his musical transition between the two cities. In 2021, he followed with Inheritance: Venezuelan Jazz Fusion, an album that integrated traditional Venezuelan rhythms with Afro-Caribbean jazz concepts.
In 2025, Bello released The Charanga Syndicate, a project dedicated to the classic Cuban charanga ensemble format. Recording with his group, Alí Bello & The Charanga Syndicate, the album highlights the violin as a central voice in the charanga tradition, further establishing his role in the modern Latin jazz and fusion scenes.
