Nelson Palacios is a Cuban multi-instrumentalist, singer, and composer who began his musical training in Cuba, starting piano at age four and violin at age eight in Guanabacoa. By age ten, he was performing with a youth orchestra. In 2001, Palacios relocated to Paris, France, where he has maintained an active career collaborating with artists and projects such as Carlos Maza, Raúl Paz, Orishas, and the Paris Salsa All Stars.
Palacios serves as the director and composer for his ensemble, Nelson Palacios Y Su Cosa Loca. The group's repertoire draws from traditional Cuban genres, including changüí, guaguancó, and son cubano, which they blend with contemporary salsa. Under this project, Palacios released the album "Fresco y Caliente."
In 2026, the group released the single "Así Son Las Cosas." Written and composed by Palacios, the track showcases his multi-instrumental role as he performs the lead vocals, piano, and bass on an arrangement that balances son and roots-style salsa.
