
Gisselle Ortiz Cáceres, known professionally as Gisselle, is an American merengue and tropical pop singer, actress, and radio host of Puerto Rican descent. Born in New York City on March 28, 1969, she grew up in a Puerto Rican family and began dancing at the Ita Medina Academy at the age of 15. During this period, she performed as a dancer with the Latin teen group Menudo at the Luis A. Ferré Performing Arts Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Gisselle launched her professional singing career as a member of the tropical act Kaviar before establishing herself as a solo artist. She became one of the prominent female voices in merengue and Latin tropical music during the 1990s and early 2000s. In 2015, her work was featured in the compilation album Frente a Frente.
