Geovanni Rodríguez Ruiz, known professionally as Yova Rodriguez, is a Puerto Rican salsa singer and songwriter born in Mayagüez in the late 1960s. Raised by his mother, Doña Delia Ruiz Crespo, as the youngest of six siblings, he began singing at the age of seven, performing traditional Christmas aguinaldos.
In 2004, he established his salsa project under the name Yova Rodriguez y su Conjunto Sakao-Aká. The group's debut album, honoring Polo Montañez, featured collaborations with notable musicians, including pianist Papo Lucca.
Throughout his career, Rodriguez has released a consistent stream of salsa singles and albums. His catalog includes tracks such as 'Borinquen Se Levanta' (2017), 'Mi Barrio' (2019), 'A Venezuela' (2020), and 'Gracias Roberto' (2022). His more recent works include the album 'Pasó Sus 40' in 2023 and the single 'Ya Soy Abuelo' in 2024.
