Siga Volando is a traditional Cuban music and salsa orchestra based in Switzerland. The group was founded in 2007 by Chantal Ciaranfi and Claude Montandon following their work with Almendra, a Cuban salsa band that performed from 1990 to 2001. Inspired to create an ensemble rooted in traditional Cuban styles, Ciaranfi and Montandon formed Siga Volando to perform in the classic charanga format, featuring strings, flute, and trombone.
The orchestra consists of ten musicians from Europe and Latin America, with Cuban vocalist Susana Orta Lopez serving as the lead singer. Siga Volando's repertoire covers a wide range of Cuban genres, including salsa, danzón, chachacha, bolero, son, guajira, and rumba. Their musical style blends traditional arrangements with jazz improvisations, violin melodies, and solo performances on the flute, trombone, and piano.
Among their recorded works, Siga Volando has released the single "Dejame recordar".
