
Ibrahim Ferrer Jr. is a Cuban-born singer and musician, and the son of the Buena Vista Social Club vocalist Ibrahim Ferrer. Carrying on his family's musical legacy, Ferrer Jr. focuses on traditional genres such as son cubano, promoting and preserving the classic Cuban music style while introducing contemporary innovations.
His recording career includes the album "Son para ti", containing Cuban classics, and "Al son de un homenaje", which featured original compositions and won a Carlos Gardel Award in 2008. He also completed the recording of a third album titled "Mio muy mio".
In 2026, Ferrer Jr. released the album "El Hijo del Son" (also referred to as "Los hijos del son"), focusing on his life memories and his ongoing dedication to the preservation of traditional son cubano.
