Guayacán Orquesta is a prominent Colombian salsa band founded in the mid-1980s in Quibdó, Colombia. The group was established by director, composer, and trombone player Alexis Lozano, who was previously a key member of Grupo Niche. Alongside Lozano, producer, pianist, and arranger Israel Tanenbaum played a significant role in defining the band's sound.
Known for its energetic style and incorporation of musical traditions from the Colombian Pacific, the orchestra became recognized as one of the premier salsa bands in Colombia. Over the decades, the group toured extensively across Latin America and internationally, bringing Colombian salsa to global audiences.
Guayacán Orquesta continues to perform and record new material, adding to their extensive discography with the release of the single "Mala Costumbre" in 2025.
