Jimmy Saa is a Colombian singer, songwriter, and percussionist from Buenaventura who is known for blending salsa with the traditional music of Colombia's Pacific coast. Often referred to as "El Embajador del PacÃfico Colombiano" (The Ambassador of the Colombian Pacific), Saa integrates regional Afro-Colombian rhythms such as currulao, bunde, and contradanza into his salsa and timba orchestrations.
Saa began his professional career performing in the band of Yuri Buenaventura. He later joined the acclaimed salsa orchestra Grupo Niche, serving as a lead vocalist and percussionist. Following his tenure with Grupo Niche, Saa launched a solo career to focus on his signature style of Pacific-infused salsa.
Saa has maintained a steady output of recordings in his solo career. His recent releases include the live album "Saalsa Cabaret (En Vivo)" and several singles in 2024, such as "La Gente Que Goza" and "Pura Caña (Remix)," followed by the 2025 single "La Ola."
