María Margarita Pinillos, known professionally as Arabella, is a Colombian salsa singer and composer born in Bogotá on June 5. Often referred to as La Sonera Mayor, she achieved significant recognition during the 1980s, establishing a strong fanbase and finding professional success in Venezuela. In addition to her career as a performing artist, she is also known for composing music for other figures in the genre, including Celia Cruz.
Arabella's recording career throughout the 1980s and early 1990s is marked by a series of salsa albums. Her discography includes Sabor y Raza (1982), Callejon (1983), and her self-titled album Arabella (1985). She continued releasing music with La Musiquita in 1987 and Más Allá Del Sabor in 1990.
