Orquesta Canela

Orquesta Canela is an all-female salsa orchestra from Cali, Colombia, founded on April 1, 1992, by María Fernanda Múnera Ricci and Álvaro Cuervo Villafañe. Performing primarily salsa and cumbia genres, the ensemble has maintained an active recording presence from 1994 through 2026.

The group has represented Colombia at multiple international events. They performed at the Philadelphia salsa congress "El Poder de las Mujeres en la Salsa," sharing the stage with artists such as Yolandita Rivera, Annette Carrión, América y su Tumbancha, and Doremi of Japan. In April 2018, Orquesta Canela participated in the National Day of Salsa in Puerto Rico, performing their original material along with a rendition of La Sonora Ponceña's "Borinquen."

In recent years, the group has continued releasing singles, including "Asi Es Canela (Versión 2023)," "Muevete," "Mexico de Mis Amores," "Llego la Fiesta," and "Dancing Queen," followed by "Timbalera" in 2026.
