
Galdy Santiago (born José "Galdy" Santiago Garriga) is a Puerto Rican percussionist, bandleader, and producer. He founded the youth salsa orchestra Galdy Santiago y La Sociedad in 2017. The group is known for integrating traditional salsa with pop and urban music elements. Notably, the group is recognized as the first band in the Caribbean to integrate sign language interpreters into its live presentations.
In 2017, the percussionist worked on his initial album production titled "Desde otro punto." Throughout the following years, the project released various singles within the salsa and timba genres. In 2020, they released the singles "Otro Trago," "La Gente Dice" (along with a remix), and "No Quieren Parar." These releases were followed by the album "Sinergia" and the holiday single "Reencuentro Navideño" in 2021.
Between 2022 and 2025, the orchestra remained active with a series of new releases. They issued the singles "Tú Tienes Algo," "A Dónde Te Me Fuiste," and "Lelolai" in 2022, followed by "Culpables" and "Extraplanetario (Live)" in 2023. Their subsequent single release, "La Sociedad - Porta del Sol," debuted in 2025.
